When told of what his graduating meant for the class of 2008, Beckwith responded by saying, "that's awesome. I had no idea, but it's a tribute to Coach Miles and his staff and the emphasis that is put on getting an education at LSU."

"It took a big effort but it was something that I always wanted to do," Beckwith said. "When I came to LSU I wanted to get my degree and succeed on the football field, but getting an education was always a priority because of the emphasis that Coach Miles puts on it."

i wish more fans would see what an emphasis clm puts on education, and helping these young men see that there is more than football. but it is nice to see players say that he stressed the importance of education.

To my recollection, LSU has the #2 graduation rate in the conference under Miles, behind only Vandy.
