12 Yr. Old Ruled Too Big to Play Football

Recommended Posts

Pretty sure that's a very common rule. Hate it for the kid, but the coaches should have let them know up front. You can't have 300 lbers going against 70 pounders, and I weighed 78 when I was in 7th grade. (I also didn't play football at that age...)

There is a league available to him.

He just doesn't want to play in that one because those kids are good.

He'd rather raise a stink and try to get into a league where he is literally twice the size as the next biggest kid.

If there was nowhere else he could play, then yeah try to fight it.

But in this case, go play with the big boys, or don't play.

Agree with nootch and fish. This isnt about that one kid. It is about the safety of all the other kids that age. This isnt the sec where kids are trained and conditioned to go against much bigger. These are small untrained kids that could get seriously hurt.

Btw, even for his height, at his age, 300 pounds seems like an awful lot. Kid need exercise, but not flattening little kids to do it.
