I was helping a buddy installing the new shocks, mud tires, and some LED lights on his Jeep project when his brother came with his new Tesla Model 3. It is just an amazing electric car but lots of people like me are hesitant with auto pilot.

My son (34) put a $1K to hold his queue position for a Tesla 3.  He comes up some time in 2018.  He bought a Jetta to keep for 2 years to span him over to the Tesla.  He's an electrical engineer, so he wants an electric car.

It must be exciting for him.

I am so happy to announce  I have found a job on the Northshore and my start date is December 4th. Goodbye Causeway commute!!!

The job I am leaving morphed into a position that had me on call 24/7. My holidays and vacations were interrupted.  I cringed every time a text message would pop up.  The emails were nonstop.

At first, I believed I just made a bad decision.  Now, I know  God placed me there for a reason, and I am so glad I was there

Since turning in my resignation, my stress level is dropping, my faith is stronger and looking forward to this new journey.

Please keep your faith, prayers for all!

Congratulations, I am happy for you!  I retired at 61.  I could have continued easily, in a good paying job.  I have a couple of health issues that cause chronic fatigue and aches, and combined with annual layoffs as the IBM mainframe market declined, life was tiring, frustrating and depressing.  I thought I could make in retirement most of what I made working, by investing my 401-K and other savings.  It has worked out as I planned, now I work for myself as my own mutual fund manager.  I usually consider my work day from 8 am to noon, but I have total flexibility.  My stress level is way down, I am happier, and I think the reduction in stress will extend my life by a few years.  It is good to try and take care of yourself.

Happy Fri-yay!  I started my new job two weeks ago.  I ran into 6 people I have worked with before. Everyone is nice and I am enjoying what I do.

It’s been a busy two weeks.   Can’t believe Christmas is 10 days away, haven’t  started shopping either.

Next Friday, I’m driving to Shreveport to pick up my mom and will return the next day.

hope everyone has a wonderful weekend, and for those with little ones, enjoy watching the magic of Christmas through their eyes.  I miss those days .

That's itchy!  Luckily with the drops it clears up pretty quick.  I hear its contagious so be careful.

On oral steroids for the itching and swelling, started the drops a couple of hours ago.

What concerned me in the Walk in Clinic, I overheard the receptionist tell the nurse, they needed to do a TB test on some guy.  I moved to the far side of the room from those people.  Thankfully, I was the first one seen today.

I bought the H&R Block Deluxe tax software today from Amazon (no state tax in TX), for $19.  I downloaded it from Amazon, got my activation key from Amazon, installed and I am up and running.  I don't know of a cheaper way to get it, thought I'd pass it along.  I just don't have a CD, but I've never needed the CD beyond the initial use.  I saved the install package in my "Block" directory, with the year on it, as I may have a collection of them in a few years.

Alabama loses recruiting battle to Princeton as four-star QB sticks with Tigers

Princeton went head-to-head with Alabama for a four-star quarterback ... and wonOne of the most intriguing decisions of the 2018 recruiting cycle came to a conclusion on Friday when four-star quarterback Brevin White out of Paraclete High School in Lancaster, California, called up Nick Saban.

White has been committed to Princeton since July 2017, picking the Ivy League program over a host of other Pac-12 and Power Five offers. But an offer from the defending national champions on Jan. 25 called for a recalculation. With an Alabamaoffer in hand, White took an official visit to Tuscaloosa the following weekend and quickly emerged as the Tide's top priority at the quarterback position late in the process.

After mulling over his options this week, White called Saban on Friday with is decision.

"I just wanted to stick with my heart. I wanted to lay out whats important to me and what school offers me the best opportunity to achieve goals on an off field. Alabama is a great school and a great opportunity, but Princeton checks more boxes," White told CBS Sports.

White plans to major in economics at Princeton and hopes to pursue a career in finance if the NFL doesn't work out. As he's mulled over this decision over the last week, Princeton has put him in touch with some high net worth individuals that have hammered home the value of an Ivy League network in the business world, but the connections don't stop there. White is scheduled to talk to Dallas Cowboys coach and Princeton graduate Jason Garrett later Friday afternoon.

"The overall consensus is Princeton is once in lifetime experience," he said. "Obviously you're going to get a great education, but I figure part of it, too, is the friends that you make are going to last a lifetime. Almost everyone you meet is going to be best friends the rest of your life. You're going to be offered a big variety of things to do with a Princeton alumni network as well."

Alabama will likely turn now to Arizona native Brock Purdy at the quarterback position; it will battle Iowa State, Texas A&M and Illinois for the three-star prospect.

Most of us know Elon Mush as the founder of Tesla automobiles.  He also founded SpaceX with the intent of building rocket technology that will dramatically reduce the cost of launching rockets into space.  One of his ideas it to "land" the booster rockets and reuse them.  They have been experimenting with this process for years:
